“I love meeting people, ascertaining their wants, needs, and budget, and helping them find their forever home,” says RESF Realtor® Héctor Barrios, who specializes in buying, listing, renting, and leasing single-family homes in South Miami/Kendall in all price ranges. Known as a hardworking, honest, reliable professional, Héctor makes himself readily available to clients whenever they need him, from initial meeting to final closing.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Cuba-born Héctor and his family fled the Castro regime by raft when he was nine years old, settling permanently in Miami. Following high school graduation, he enrolled at Miami Dade College to become a firefighter-paramedic and obtained Associate Degrees in Emergency Medical Services and Arts.
The next 15 years saw him rise to the rank of Fire Captain in the City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue. There he acquired expert experience in emergency medical services, fire suppression, disaster management, and fire rescue operations while becoming known for a strong work ethic, outstanding reliability, and a deep commitment to serving the public.
Having earned a BS in Disaster Management from Florida International University’s Continuing Education Program, Héctor returned to Miami Dade College as a Paramedic Lead Instructor to train third-semester students in advanced stroke life support (ASLS), acute coronary syndrome (ACS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS).
When he subsequently saw the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a real estate professional, he lost no time in obtaining his Realtor® license, joining RESF, and successfully transitioning to the real estate industry, A happily married father of three who calls home “my happy place,” Héctor enjoys basketball, sharing dinner dates with his wife, and playing with his children. “The goal” he says, “is to raise them to be good people with a love for God and family.”
